1. Data Protection at a Glance

General Information

The following information provides a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data that can be used to personally identify you. For detailed information on data protection, please refer to our privacy policy listed below.

Data Collection on This Website

Who is responsible for data collection on this website?
Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator:
Arztbesuche.de, Owner: Dr. med. Jendrik Steffin, Bismarckstraße 74, 12157 Berlin
Phone: 030 2555536 49
Email: info@arztbesuche.de

How do we collect your data?
Your data is collected when you provide it to us (e.g., data entered in a contact form). Other data is automatically collected by our IT systems when you visit the website. This is mainly technical data (e.g., browser, operating system, time of page access). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter our website.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted by an external service provider (hoster). The personal data collected on this website is stored on the servers of the hoster. This may include IP addresses, contact requests, meta and communication data, contract data, contact details, names, website accesses, and other data generated through a website.

3. Web Analytics with Matomo

This website uses Matomo for statistical analysis of visitor access. Matomo runs exclusively on our own server in Germany (self-hosted). No data is passed on to third parties.

The analysis is cookie-free: no cookies are set for web analytics. IP addresses are anonymized before storage (the last two bytes are truncated), so tracing back to individual persons is excluded. Your browser's Do-Not-Track setting is respected - if enabled, no data is collected.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in statistically sound reach measurement to optimize our offering). You may object to this processing at any time in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR by contacting us using the details given below.

4. Cookies and Consent

Without your consent, this website does not set any cookies for analytics or marketing purposes. Web analytics with Matomo (see section 3) is cookie-free. Technically necessary cookies may be set by the web server to ensure that the website functions.

With your consent, Google Analytics (see section 7) and Google Ads (see section 8) set cookies. Google Tag Manager (see section 6) loads both services, and only after you have consented in the consent banner (see section 5). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page.

5. Consent Banner

We obtain your consent through a consent banner. The banner is our own, self-hosted program code of this website. No external provider is used for the banner, and no data is transmitted to such a provider.

The banner has two categories:

  • Technically necessary - always active: stores your choice in this browser and keeps the basic functions of the site working
  • Statistics and marketing - only with your consent: Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads and the dynamic phone number

Declining is as easy as accepting.

The banner stores your choice in your browser's local storage (localStorage, entry "ab-consent"): the decision per category, the time of the decision and the expiry date. No cookie is set, and the entry is not transmitted to our server or to third parties. The choice is valid for 180 days, after which the banner asks again. To check whether your browser can use the local storage and delete entries from it, the banner briefly accesses a test entry named "ab-consent-probe"; it contains no data and is not kept. If your browser prevents saving, your choice applies to the current page view only.

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. Upon withdrawal, the consent signals are immediately set to "denied", the Tag Manager is no longer loaded on your next visit, and the Google cookies recognizable from this website (_ga, _ga_*, _gcl_*, _gid, _gat*) are deleted. Cookies that Google has set under its own domains can be deleted in your browser settings. The lawfulness of the processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).

We use Google Consent Mode v2 in its basic form. Before you consent, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads are not loaded, and no data is transmitted to Google through these services. After you consent, the signals ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage are set to "granted".

  • Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG (legitimate interest in respecting your choice and not asking again on every visit)
  • Recipients: none
  • Transfer to third countries: none
  • Storage period: 180 days

6. Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Tag Manager is used to manage and load Google Analytics and Google Ads. It is only loaded after you have consented in the consent banner (see section 5).

When it is loaded, Google technically receives your IP address, browser and device information and the page you visited. Tag Manager itself does not set any cookies and does not create usage profiles.

  • Legal basis: Consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG
  • Recipients: Google Ireland Limited; the processing may also be carried out by Google LLC, USA
  • Transfer to third countries: Possible to the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the basis is the adequacy decision of the European Commission of 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR)
  • Storage period: Nothing is stored on your device; Google processes the request data according to its own policies

7. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 for reach and success measurement, that is, to measure the pages visited, clicks on phone numbers and contact options, and the loading time. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics is only loaded after you have consented in the consent banner (see section 5). The analysis is carried out jointly for arztbesuche.de and arztbesuche.berlin.

Processed are device and browser information, the approximate location, page views and events, the referring page and a pseudonymous identifier in the cookie. According to Google, the IP address is used only to derive the approximate location and is not stored. The cookies "_ga" and "_ga_<identifier>" are set.

45 GDPR)
  • Storage period: Cookies "_ga" and "_ga_<identifier>" up to 2 years each; event data in Google Analytics for 14 months at most, then automatic deletion

8. Google Ads (Conversion Tracking and Call Measurement)

We use Google Ads to measure the success of our ads. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. If a visitor arrives via a Google ad and takes an action on our website, for example a call or a contact request, we and Google learn that the ad led to it. We receive only aggregated statistics, no information that allows us to personally identify anyone. Google Ads is only loaded after you have consented in the consent banner (see section 5).

Dynamic phone number: After you consent, the phone number displayed on mobile devices may be replaced by a forwarding number provided by Google. Calls are forwarded to our fixed phone number. Google processes information about the call (for example start, duration and area code of the calling number) to attribute it to the ad. Without your consent, our fixed phone number applies.

The cookie "_gcl_au" is set. Google may additionally set cookies under its own domains, for example doubleclick.net.

45 GDPR)
  • Storage period: Cookie "_gcl_au" up to 90 days; the cookies that Google sets under its own domains are subject to Google's own periods

Further information: Google Privacy Policy

9. Evaluation SMS After Home Visit

After a completed home visit, we send an SMS to the mobile number provided during your appointment request to ask about your satisfaction with the treatment (quality assurance). The SMS is typically sent within four days of the appointment.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in quality assurance of our medical services). We process only the mobile number you provided when requesting an appointment.

The mobile number is stored for this purpose only as long as necessary for the evaluation and is then deleted or blocked for further evaluation SMS messages in accordance with statutory retention periods. You may object to this processing at any time in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR by contacting us using the details given below.
